Mac OS X Setup Assistant


1. From the desktop, double-click on the Hard Drive icon.
2. In the Hard Drive icon, double-click on the System folder.
3. From the System folder, double-click the Library folder.
4. From the Library folder, double-click the CoreServices folder.
5. Form the CoreServices folder, double-click the Setup Assistant icon to open the folder shown below.

Select I'll use my existing Internet service. Click Continue.

Select Telephone modem. Click Continue.

On the Set Up Existing Service screen, type your username, password and your local dialup number. Click the Continue button.

Set Up Your Modem

  1. If you use the default modem that came with your Macintosh, leave the first box on Internal Modem.

  2. If it is the default modem the next box should already have the correct modem list, if not select the correct modem that you have.

  3. Click the Continue.

Get .Mac Screen

  1. Select I'll set up a .Mac membership later.
  2. Click the Continue button.

You're Finished

  1. Click the Go button.

 

Mail Setup

Click the Mail icon in your Dock area. It will look like the one below.

 

At the top click Mail.

 

Then click Preferences

Accounts Screen

Click the Add Account button.

Account Information

  1. Account type should be set to POP.
  2. In the Description box type mail.planetc.com.
  3. In the Email Adress box type your username@planetc.com.
  4. In The Full Name box type your name.
  5. In the Incoming Mail Server type mail.planetc.com.
  6. In the User Name box type your username.
  7. In the Password box type your password.
  8. Click the Options button.

 

 

SMTP Server Options

  1. In the Outgoing Mail Server box type mail.planetc.com.
  2. Click the OK button.
  3. Click the OK button again.
  4. Close the Accounts screen by clicking the red dot in the upper left.
